Darwin Day, 2009

Hello All,

You may have noticed that we do not have any new material posted this morning. Our Darwin Day party was a blast, and we were up past our usual bedtimes. This was no usual party--it involved reading 150-year-old (and older) pericopae, interpretive art, and vocabulary words such as allele, Neaderthal, procession, and inbreeding (thank you Biggums).

We will probably not have our regular Sound Off feature or a post again until tomorrow morning. In the mean time, the following are a few pictures of the event.

Dar (short for "Darwin", our ferret) & Darwin Day ("DD") Cake

Philosobot Holding A Struggling Darwin

Dar (short for "Darling"), Biggums, and Huxley (our other ferret)

  1. The only picture of me is my hand holding Darwin over the cake...sorry. You will have to wait to see who this Script character is.

  2. A party really isn't a party without inbreeding.

  3. seriously, leave it to Biggums to introduce "inbreeding" into a party themed around Darwin and evolutionary dynamics.

  4. That reminds me of a conversation I had with Biggums while playing pool one time in high school. The memory is a little foggy... for some reason I can remember the conversations in my garage that day better.

  5. Zee,

You have to develop this last comment. Please explain.
